ROK Stars PLC, the consumer products development company founded by US Billionaire John Paul DeJoria and UK entrepreneur Jonathan Kendrick, has announced that it has acquired a majority shareholding in ABK Betriebsgesellschaft der Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren GmbH (ABK GmbH) from Bavarian-based brewery, Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren AG.

Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren AG is listed on the Munich stock exchange.

ABK GmbH is the exclusive distributor of Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren AG’s products and on the 15th of May 2013 the shareholders of Aktienbrauerei Kaufbeuren AG will vote on whether to transfer its brewery business and real estate necessary for the brewery business to ABK GmbH.

ABK GmbH’s primary tasks will include increasing sales through developing new export markets and, in so doing, lowering the unit production costs

Commenting, Jonathan Kendrick, Chairman of ROK Stars said “We have been studying the remarkable growth in recent times in the Craft Beer market in several countries, particularly the US, and we feel that proper German beer has a unique credibility, developed under the ancient ‘Reinheitsgebot’ German Beer Purity Laws which date back to 1516. Aktienbrauerei in Kaufbeuren, Bavaria, can trace its roots even further than that – to 1308 – representing more than 700 years of Bavarian brewing heritage and tradition.”
